Rebecca qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2012 and initially worked in mixed practice in Cornwall, where she supported several native species projects, including the British Divers Marine Mammal Rescue teams and local wildlife sanctuaries. She later moved to South Africa to work with the C.A.R.E. baboon rescue and rehabilitation centre, where she facilitated troop releases and developed a new field clinic.


After returning to the UK, Rebecca completed a Master’s degree in Conservation Medicine at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. Her research included studying the prevalence of leprosy in UK red squirrels. Rebecca joined the Highland Wildlife Park team in 2022, providing veterinary care for the park as well as support for the Saving Wildcats project. In her spare time, she enjoys wild swimming in Scotland’s lochs and rivers.
