Meet Georgina, a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) based in West Yorkshire. Her journey into veterinary nursing began at the age of 16 when she started working in first opinion GP practices. After qualifying from Askham Bryan College in 2017, she has been dedicated to small animal nursing.

In August 2022, Georgina co-founded the NURVN with her colleague Nadia Khan RVN, aiming to advocate for veterinary nurses and promote fairness and equality within the profession. Feeling a need to invigorate her career, Georgina pursued an advanced certificate in anaesthesia and analgesia from the Royal Veterinary College in September 2023.

Passionate about nursing, Georgina is an advocate for her fellow nurses, striving to create a supportive and empowering environment. She is committed to ensuring that nurses receive fair treatment, equitable pay, and recognition for their invaluable contributions. Additionally, Georgina mentioned to us that she loves the colour pink!

Seeking to enhance her skills and further her career, Georgina has recently passed her Graduate Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Nursing. She serves on the union board, driven by the desire to provide legal support for nurses and improve industry standards to create a sustainable and fulfilling career path for veterinary nurses.
