Ellie Lee qualified from the University of Bristol in 2017 and worked at an independent small animal practice in Kidderminster for two years before spending several years locuming in the UK and New Zealand. In May 2023, she opened Manchester Cat Clinic with her husband Dan, after realising that the only practice she would want to settle in would be a cat-only clinic. The practice has grown rapidly from a two-vet team of eight to a 20-strong team including six vets. Manchester Cat Clinic has been recognised with several awards, including overall winners of the SPVS Veterinary Business Excellence Awards, Best Vets in Greater Manchester, and Best Cat-Only Vets in the UK at the BestUKVets Awards in 2024.

Ellie is passionate about cats, creating a workplace that people enjoy being part of, providing high-quality customer service, and the positive impact small businesses can have in their communities. She volunteers for BSAVA North West, where she helps organise CPD courses. She particularly values the return of in-person attendance post-Covid and is currently involved in organising events including a “Women in the Workplace – Menopause Awareness Day” brunch in October 2025 in South Manchester.

Outside of work, Ellie enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and two cats.
